Staff Focus: Nicole Bernard
As former GM Hannah Ragan transitions into a role on our CH Accounting Team, please join us in welcoming Common House Richmond’s new General Manager, Nicole Bernard. Nicole joins CH with over 27 years of hospitality experience— most recently a 5 year tenure in Northern Virginia as the Wine Director, Service Director, and Sommelier, at Trummer’s on Main in Clifton.
Her experience in front of house operations includes management on every level (GM, Wine Director, Sommelier, Floor Manager) and has received multiple wine certifications, including a Certified Sommelier through the Court of Master Sommeliers and a Certified Specialist of Wine through the Society of Wine Educators. Nicole’s experience also extends to back of house operations via a culinary education from the Culinary Institute of America, kitchen management, and menu writing & development.
"Food, wine and service are something of an obsession. Some of our best memories include enjoying food with the people we love and a beautifully composed dish is a work of art to be admired and respected. Likewise, the best wine I’ve ever tasted nearly brought me to my knees and I will never ever forget that moment, how amazing that wine actually was and how lucky I felt to have tasted it.
I am excited to be part of the CH team and that I have the opportunity to work side-by-side with a core group of deeply passionate people - Team Members and Membership alike - and I can’t wait to see where this journey takes us!"
