STAFF FOCUS: Ian Hawks⁠

SOUS CHEF Ian Hawks is on our food frontlines, cooking delicious dishes for carryout and delivery (almost) every day of the week. He's been with Common House for about 6 months and we’re not quite sure what we would do without him.⁠

HIS SPECIALTIES include the roasted chicken and mushroom pappardelle. Trust us, you’ll want to bring these dishes home to the family (no judgement if you decide to hoard them for yourself).⁠

MORE THAN A CAREER, food is familial. Growing up around amazing cuisine in Catania, Italy piqued Ian’s interest in cooking from an early age. After moving stateside at the age of 17, he quickly found his way into professional kitchens and has been cooking ever since.⁠

LAST MONTH, the Hawks family grew from three to four with the birth of their beautiful daughter, Quinn. Ian is amazed how his wife, Anne, is able to do it all — between being a full time mom, caretaker, and now teacher to their nine-year-old daughter, Piper, all while sheltering in place. What can we say, women are superheroes.⁠

THOUGH COVID-19 has shifted how we gather, Ian is hopeful we’ll soon be on the other side, dining together as a community once again. In the meantime, he urges diners to continue supporting their local favorites through carryout and gift cards. Did we mention the mushroom pappardelle?⁠
