SUSAN IS a cake boss (but seriously). She attended culinary school in San Francisco and worked in the industry for 10+ years before starting her solo venture, @cakebloom, in Sonoma. Lucky for us, she brought the biz with her when she and her family relocated to Cville late last year. ⁠

FINALLY BACK in the south (she grew up on Lookout Mountain, TN), Susan has come full circle. Only this time, as a mom. Settling down in Cville, Susan is overjoyed to be part of a community where fresh, local foods and natural ingredients are much more accessible for working parents. The blue ridge mountains also provide the perfect backdrop for her to grow, forage, and explore.⁠

THESE DAYS (when she’s not baking), she’s passing the time with new family rituals, including daily “wine-downs” with her husband and pancake mornings with her daughter, Lucy James. ⁠
