Katie is the CEO and founder of @katiesilcox_shaktischool, NYT Best-Selling author of "Healthy, Happy, Sexy - Ayurveda Wisdom for Modern Women," and (lucky for us!) a member of Common House. Recently, she passed along accessible practices to stay healthy, inside and out:⁠

PRACTICE GRATITUDE. It’s what keeps our cellular matrix (and immunity) in good communication.⁠

SUPPLEMENT YOUR IMMUNITY with Zinc, Selenium, Fish Oil, Vitamin D, Vitamin C, Vitamin A, and Lysine. Also, try swapping sugar and fried foods for bone broth, veggies, smoothies, and hot herbal tea (including echinacea and turmeric).⁠

FRESH AIR is essential. Get your hands and feet in the dirt and try to keep moving as much as possible. Katie sets a timer to do squats, lunges, arm raises, or even just jog in place every hour. ⁠

ABOVE ALL know it’s normal to be afraid. As a collective, we have never been through a challenge of this sort. Try and stay informed, but don’t run to the news every hour. When things feel chaotic, find the center of you that is calm and unchanging. Practice returning there.⁠
