MEMBER FOCUS: Cameron Baumgartner
CAMERON CREATES: worlds within worlds. She is a fiction writer who melds the political with narrative forms; who demystifies the process by her dedication to daily word counts (1500) and disciplined engagement with literature. She is also a fan of craft beers.
SHE IS: rounding up her final year at VCFA’s acclaimed MFA low-residency graduate program where she spends 10 days each semester immersed in Vermont’s vibrant community, attending lectures, workshopping original works, and hearing readings from faculty and visiting artists including: Adam McOmber and Mary Ruefle (😍!)
HER MOTTOS: Stay Hungry (“I stole that one from a rapper”) and ‘I am human, I consider nothing human is alien to me’ (“I got that from a Roman philosopher”). Both encapsulate, to her, a balance between ambition and humility—a pursuit toward a shared and celebrated humanity.
