MEMBER FOCUS: Alex Davis⁠

HE IS: a member of the ArchitectureFirm team. He’s collaborated with the Common House crew on the vision & design for House No.2 from the start and currently helps oversee the construction process. So yeah, we’re pretty big fans.

HIS WORK: is an expression of his values, from bringing people together to creatively finding solutions to problems. A finished project is the goal, but the process from start to finish - with revisions and moving timelines - is half the fun.⁠

HE SEES: the whole arch of a city’s story, thanks in part, he says, to his wife, Liz, the director of public programs at the Valentine museum. The work he’s doing in downtown Richmond is part of a “continual process of renewal. There are people who have been here, people who have lived downtown for a long time who haven’t stopped living here...As Richmond’s growing up, they’re finding new ways to live here.” And playing his part in that is a dream come true.⁠
